MY MASONIC HISTORY
I entered the realms
of Master Mason on 27th May 1987 as a member of ABBEY LODGE #180
based in Whiteabbey Northern Ireland. Their Lodge room moved to a fairly
inaccessible area so my attendance lapsed.
I was later introduced to FREEDOM LODGE #169 BELFAST. Finding it to be a Lodge to my liking I first affiliated then lifted my demit from Abbey Lodge thus swapping allegiance to FREEDOM.
There I remained although a small Lodge I was keen and soon joined the Ladder to the East. I attained the position of Honour of being Worshipful Master in 1998. Currently Junior Warden.
The brief history of Freedom #169 can be found on the following pages.
On 17th September 1992 I became a Royal Arch Chapter member and am currently serving as
Captain of the Host. The Chapter is larger than the Blue Lodge but contains most of the
Master Masons I know from 169.
On 29th May 1996 I also became a Knight Mason within the Sharon #66
Council.
I admit this is my favourite section and I am now serving them as
Treasurer and Captain of the Guard.
1st November 1999 I became a member of Liscoole Preceptory #763.
I look forward to a long association with Liscoole.
They are based at the fairly new Whiteabbey Masonic Centre in County Antrim.
30th May 2000 Union Perceptory Belfast held a Knights of Malta meeting. They gave me the honour of conferring the Degree on me.
In the Irish Constitution Malta is given AFTER High Knight Templar.
